Ada’s Skin.
Ada was the tall chocolate skinned girl known for her beautiful, dark skin. She radiated beauty and confidence. She was popular on campus and a main attraction for the cult boys. After not giving in to the main cult leader Baron, she decided to settle for Emeka. She was madly in love with him, especially after meeting him at a campus rave in their freshman year.
They spent all their time together after lectures. They went to the movies, and also went on short weekend getaways together.
She always dreamed of being his wife. She was dutiful, she cooked for him, did his laundry, cleaned his two bedroom apartment located off campus. He spoiled her with expensive gifts and treats. Emeka promised her the world
However, she noticed something about Emeka that she was not able to shake off. Every time they walked past fair skinned girls, Emeka’s attention was captured.
Toni came into the picture. She was a light skinned girl with a British accent. She was fashionable, and wore a pixie hair cut. She was attractive.
Ada and Emeka were standing in line at the campus fast food restaurant called Allie’s when Toni walked in with their mutual friend, Oma.
Oma introduced Toni to Ada and Emeka who acknowledged her.
They all sat together at the same table and had lunch. Emeka kept asking Toni a lot of questions, which made Ada uncomfortable. Oma didn’t know what to say, but…
