Farouk dropped me off at Nordstrom. I had to get a gift for his mom who had just come into town from Atlanta. His younger sister was graduating this weekend. She was getting her degree in Cell and Molecular biology. Mom and other family members were flying in to town for the ceremony. I walked into Nordstrom to figure out what to buy.
Farouk, my boyfriend came from a wealthy family. Buying a gift for his family was like putting water into the ocean.
Three weeks ago, I overheard his younger sister telling her friend on the phone that she was likely to get a condo as a graduation gift. I think I got flowers and gift cards for graduation.
My phone vibrated in my purse. I pulled out my phone to read the message.

I opened the thread and began to read. The message was from Simi.
