In the event of knowing that death is coming…. you clean house.
The family sat in the living room downstairs. It was a few minutes past 8 pm. Rosa, my beautiful wife, sat beside me and was scrolling through her phone. The children were catching up with each other. It was great to see them all happy for what would be the last time. I looked at the clock on the wall. Every ticking second counted.
The thought of not seeing my family, after tonight bothered me. I stood up from the sofa.
Rosa looked at me.
“Are you okay Leonard?” Rosa asked me.
“Yes Rosa, I need to go to the study,” I replied.
“Dad, it’s family time, why are you going to the study.?” Whitney asked.
“You all have fun, I have work to do,” I said. “Can someone get me a glass of scotch please?”
“Sure dad,” William said.
