Delphine was in her room doing her homework. She had a Biology test in the morning. She needed to study hard, because she hated Biology. She could not afford to fail the class either, especially as the junior exams were coming up and most of her class work accounted for a huge part of her grade.
Her phone buzzed on the table beside her notebook. Her father’s name flashed across the screen, putting a smile on her face. She answered the call on the second ring.
“Hey Dad,” Delphine began.
“How is my princess doing today? Damina asked warmly. He loved hearing Delphine’s voice.
“I am good, over here struggling with my Biology homework. I have a test in the morning and I am having a nervous breakdown. I don’t want to fail the class, mom is going to get me good.” Delphine said.
“That sounds serious, study hard, I know you will do well.” Damina encouraged. Delphine smiled.
“I will, thanks dad. How are you? How is Durban?” Delphine asked. She always wanted to be around her father in Durban, and it bothered her.”
