CONFESSIONS OF A CHEATING WIFE (16)

Yemi smiled at me. I guessed it was my cue to speak.

“We met at a game night.” I responded.

“Awesome.” his cousin Tola said with a smile. I didn’t want to speak without being asked. It would have been a perfect time to tell the story about how we met, but I had to read the room.

Were they interested in the story or was it just to make conversation?

“It was the best time of my life,” Yemi continued, sounding animated.

“Oh yeah?” Temi, his sister said.

“Yes, it was, I saw this beauty and decided to shoot my shot.” He responded. I read the sarcasm in her voice. I was not sure if he did too and continued to tell the story to spite her, or if he was just genuinely telling the story. I don’t think she liked me. She showed it.

His mother was another puzzle I had to figure out. It was always tough to get along with women in a family setting, and so far, if I had to rate my interaction with the women in life apart from his cousins, I would rate it below neutral.

Tola looked at me, anticipating I would continue the animated story her cousin was telling, but I didn't want to be part of this little game. At this point, I was ready to leave. I was not getting positive vibes. I felt like I was walking on broken glass…
