Thanksgiving morning.
I woke up early and went downstairs to have breakfast. The hotel breakfast was good. I decided to follow Ginger’s advice. I would have to go to the house and help cook. It would probably break the ice. I would Uber to the house instead of waiting for Yemi to pick me up.
It would also be a good surprise for him. I went back to my room and got ready. I threw on my new loungewear I got from Amazon.
I would come back later to get dressed for dinner, but for now it would be nice to kick it with his family. I went on the Uber app and called for one. Mohammad with the Toyota Camry would arrive in less than ten minutes. I picked up my purse and left the room. The rooms were arranged in a funny order, and the elevator was a minute long walk down the hallway.
I finally got on the elevator and went down to the ground floor. I approached the front desk and received a notification that the Uber driver was 5 minutes away. I decided to sit in the reception area. I watched people walk towards the front desk and make the reservations, get keys, make requests. It was pretty busy for being a holiday. I kept staring at my phone, checking how far my Uber driver was away from the hotel. He was 3 minutes away. I scrambled my things and got up from the chair. I walked towards the huge glass doors that led outside.
While I stood outside waiting, I decided to send a text message to Ginger.
