It is what it is.

Grief has a powerful effect on a person, especially the mind. It also has a way of bringing people together. I had not spoken to my parents since my separation with Yemi.

I needed to call my mom and check on her. I knew it would open up conversations leading to questions.

Was I ready to answer those questions yet?

I also had to face my aunts, they would ask questions. They always wanted to know what was going on in the family. Family gossip was an essential part of our family life. The comparisons between the siblings and their children. The competition was toxic.
