Member-only story
As I walked towards my car, I heard a familiar voice call out my name. I almost didn’t want to turn around, because it sounded too good to be true. The voice called out my name once again. I turned around, and in living flesh and blood was my husband.
I was shocked.
Yemi looked so good. I wanted to crawl all over him. I wanted to put up a front, one that would make me look and sound uncomfortable at his sight, but it was too late, because I stood in front of him with my mouth wide open.
“Hey,” I found myself blurting out without any shame.
“Are you leaving?” He asked.
What an obvious question.
But before I answer, was he just getting here like Kenzo, or was he sitting in church? I was sitting in the back and would have spotted him fist, but then I was more worried about people like Idara, Aunt Claudette and some of my other family members seeing me, than looking out for my husband.
Should I still call him my husband?
