The board members meeting was at 9am. Ola was dressed in a white pant suit. She exuded so much confidence and authority. She had spent the night going over company documents she found in her father’s office, and also looking through the charts Ike had sent to her via email. She needed knowledge to speak confidently before the board members.
She walked into the boardroom after checking to make sure her pink lipstick didn't smudge, and her hair which she had put in pin curls at night was looking nice.
She could smell hostility in the room. The board consisted of eight people. Three women and five men.
“Good morning ladies and gentlemen,” she said with a cheerful smile, even though she didn’t feel like it.
They responded. She immediately started her presentation without much ado. She told them the new vision for the company and introduced the idea of lab grown diamonds, just like their counterparts were doing. The board members were quiet. Some looked skeptical, Ginika sat there staring at Ola.
“So these innovative changes will require your support and I would love to get lots of it.” Ola concluded.
One of the shareholders, an older man in a gray suit cleared his throat.
