Saving money comes with a social cost.
Nova and Reemo Styles decided to get creative and charge guests free to come to their wedding. The wedding was priced at $333 a person.
The cost gave them a twelve hour adventure in New York City on a double Decker bus.
While this is not the conventional wedding strategy, it came at a steep cost, because not everyone wants to attend a wedding on a double Decker bus.
Charging your guests a few to attend your wedding can be right or wrong, depending on how you look at it
It is wrong, because weddings are a celebration, and the host should bear the cost. The food, drink and entertainment are paid for by the host. Attendance is not mandatory, and charging a fee can create a burden financially. The guests may have to buy or rent a formal outfit, pay for grooming, gas and a gift on top of laying for attendance.
In the case of the Styles. The attendance dropped from the three hundred and fifty invites guests to sixty people.
It is right where contribution to celebration in certain customs is not foreign. It may also be right where the crowd is pretty small and feels the decision to charge is okay.
I won’t attend an event of celebration where I am required to pay. I would rather give them a thoughtful gift to help them start their new home, and wish them the best.
