SUGAR BABY (5)

Saturday was the day.
6pm was the time.
The venue was The Roof Kitchen. It was one of the most expensive restaurants off campus on Landen Avenue. Landen Park was a new area, and gentrification reduced diversity. It was an upper class neighborhood. Scoring a reservation was a huge win for me, because it was usually booked for up to two weeks.
“Someone just called in to cancel, so I would be happy to fit you in,” the lady over the phone said when I called.
It was not owned by Owen Brown, thankfully. It was owned by another wealthy upcoming developer called Tychus. I met Tychus at a golf tournament a month ago. He was charming, but he was seated with his wife,\ who watched him like a hawk. He wasn’t easy on the eye, so I didn’t try to pursue anything. It was obvious he was into me. Who wouldn’t be into me? I didn’t give him the time of day though. He was thirsty, and that was a turn off for me.
I sent the details of our first date to Owen. He affirmed he would be there.

“Do you want me to pick you up?”
