How could Giselle be dead?
What could have possibly happened? These were the questions I asked myself as I sat in the corner watching the paramedics put her body into the dreaded black body bag. Tears streamed down my face. Giselle finally found love. She wanted the married life. She wanted a life with me. All that changed within a minute while she slept.
Her parents walked through the door. Her mom had been crying, her eyes were red. Her father looked forlorn. She saw the body bag, and began to wail. I walked over to her father and gave him a hug.
“My baby,” her mom screamed as the stretcher which held the body bag was pushed past her. She seemed like she was going to lunge towards the stretcher and jump on the body. She was prevented from doing so, by the paramedics staff.
Her husband gently held her from behind and pulled her away from the paramedics so they could do their job. She had tears streaming down her face. She hesitantly let me give her a hug. I knew this was going to be a long and hard day.
The condolence messages and phone calls were incessant. I posted her death announcement on Facebook and Instagram. As soon as I put my phone down, it began to ring. What would I say? How did she…
