Summer had the happiest smile as we walked out of the restaurant. She kept looking at her fourth finger and flashing the two carat diamond ring I had just given her. The waitresses smiled, they were there to witness the proposal.
“Congratulations,” the manager called out as he met us by the door.
“Thank you,” Summer said with a smile. She looked stunning tonight in her short red dress, which curved her figure. Her hair was swept into a bun highlighting her beautiful well contoured face and showing off the Tiffany and Co earrings I got for her on Valentine's Day. I enjoyed spending money on her. She was worth every dime.
It took a while for me to find true love. Summer was everything I wanted in wife. I knew I made the right decision.
My black Cadillac was parked in the lot facing the street. Summer’s phone began to ring in her purse.
She stopped walking and opened her Birkin purse to pull out her rose gold Iphone. I stood beside her, watching traffic whip past us.
A red Mercedes Benz pulled up to the curb where we were standing. A young lady stepped out of the backseat. Summer began her conversation with whoever had called her and was talking about the proposal.
She was getting congratulatory calls. I was ready to spend the rest of the evening hearing ringing and vibrating phones, as well as reading messages on Facebook. Yes, Summer updated her status on Facebook to “engaged” and she tagged me.
So no more shenanigans for a long time to come. I knew it was time to settle down, so I had to give up Brenda and Sabrina. All the other female numbers on my phone had to go.
The attractive looking lady took her sunglasses off. I was shocked. I could not believe who I had just seen.
