Ruka tapped the vial. Hauwa’s eyes were drawn to the vial.
“Hauwa, we are both women, and I was hoping you would be cooperative, but so far, I have not seen an inkling of loyalty from you,” Ruka said with a devious smile.
Hauwa looked confused, she stared at Ruka and then the vial.
“I don’t understand what you mean,” Hauwa replied in a confused tone.
“What part don’t you understand? Clearly, I am speaking English language.” Ruka replied coldly.
Ruka held the vial up and the viscous substance moved around.
“This liquid is the antidote to the substance your food has been laced with,” she informed Hauwa and waited for a reaction.
Hauwa opened her eyes wide with shock. She had been poisoned. She hoped the door would open and someone would come in to save her, but she realized it was just her and Ruka. No one was coming to save her.
There was silence. Hauwa began to tremble.
