Ruka contacted her cousin Riyike. She needed her to help handle business. Later that afternoon, Ruka sat in the back of the Lexus 350, while the driver navigated his way through Lagos roads towards Victoria Garden City. She sat in the backseat scrolling through her phone. She was on her husband’s Instagram page, hoping there would be a post shared about his trip. There was nothing. She decided to look at his followers list to see if she could find Sayo. Before she could type the name, she realized the driver had pulled up to Riyike’s home.

Ruka got out of the car in an orange caftan with a matching head tie, and walked towards the front door. Riyike met her at the door. She was a beautiful fair skinned woman in her late thirties, dressed in a long silk dress, her braided hair was pulled into a ponytail, giving her a regal look.

“Ruka baby, you look great, come in,” Riyike greeted warmly. Ruka gave her a hug and a peck on her right cheek.

“You look so beautiful, where is the man who will pay your bride price?” He needs to hurry up, because this beauty runs in the family and it bleeds,” Ruka…
