THE RED FLAG

Kemi Williams was the brand new manager at our branch. She was highly spoken of. A woman in her early forties with a lot of degrees and accomplishments on her belt. She graduated from Ivy League schools and successfully managed a few top companies, bringing in millions in revenue.
When Celine Matthews turned in her resignation because she had to care for her husband, who was in hospice, the company was thrown in uproar. Who could replace Celine and even do better?
The CEO was not impressed by some of the current staff members who were eligible for promotion.
Was it Saidat who spent her time demeanor other people or Thomas the micro manager? We had a lot of Generation Z on the team who didn’t like to be micromanaged, and they complained bitterly about Thomas.
Eileen, the middle aged lady with the Jerry Curl, didn’t seem to meet the CEO's persona for a manager. Eileen was termed a baby boomer and was due for retirement. The company was not ready to replace the manager every five years, even though change was good sometimes.
The last general meeting didn’t end well. The old staff began exchanging words when recommendations were brought up. There was so much back biting in the company and HR wasn’t helping matters either.
The CEO had to open the position to the public. Thomas threatened to resign. He felt irreplaceable but he had two college bound twins and feared if he didn’t get a job fast enough he wouldn’t be able to pay for their tuition…
