Shock was an understatement for exactly how I felt when Serena gave me the news that her sister was staying.
The question was how long would her sister stay, because she didn’t look like she would leave anytime soon. Stunned was the right word to use. How do you bring someone to stay in a house with you without asking the owner? I had never heard of such a crazy thing before. Is this what her husband had to deal with? She made herself seem like a victim, but she could be the villain in the story.
It sucks when you don’t know the other side of the story, so you tend to take the sob version and run with it. She was cruel. I managed to slip a smile as I looked at her younger sister, or so it seemed. She never said if she was younger, or older anyway.
“Serena, can I talk to you please?” I said, not hiding my displeasure.
Serena looked at me.
“Is everything okay?” She asked me.
Was she kidding me? Did she just ask me if everything was okay?
