Who knew planning a wedding would be so hard?
Take it from me, it is one of the hardest things to do. You are dealing with a lot of elements. First of all, you have to agree with family, especially the parents and the parents in law. My mom had always prayed for me to get engaged and married so she could throw me a huge wedding.
I wanted to have something small and intimate, but she would not hear of it. I began to wonder if she didn’t have the opportuinity to plan her wedding and do as she pleased when she married my father, and for the second time, my step father.
My parents in law also wanted to be involved in the wedding of their first and only son, they wanted to have access to the intimate details and try to do things their way. They wanted different wedding color combinations for the wedding ranging from adulterous red to malicious green and orange. I began to regret the engagement announcement we had a few months ago in a hall filled with a hundred people on my thirtieth birthday.
My fiance was chill. He worked in tech, so money for both of us wasn’t the problem. I worked in health care as a Registered Nurse and both my parents were well to do. My parents wanted to invite their friends and many extended family members, I watched in horror…
