It all started when
Eighteen months ago,
I found out my husband was seeing another woman. It started out like any other affair. He changed habits. He started coming home early, and then he would go out later. He always had something else to do on the weekends, and rarely spent time with me and our daughters.
At first I thought he was preoccupied with something. More like something he was dealing with and didn't want to talk about it. It was what it seemed at the time. He shut me off completely. I knew I wasn't doing anything wrong, because our sex life didn't change. He ate everything I cooked. Something was different, and I didn't know what it was. Talking to him about it didn't help. He would not open up.
One evening, I asked my younger sister Tara, who was visiting me at the time, to spend the evening with the kids. Tara and I had a twelve year age gap, so she was close to my kids. They called her the aunt, who was hip and bougie at the same time.
“When will you be back?” Antoinette asked as she poured orange juice into her cup.
